Ingesting Space: Christopher Lindsay and Vi Pham July 8

artwork Christopher Lindsay, Vi Pham

Christopher Lindsay and Vi Pham are recent graduates of the BFA program at the University of Ottawa. Within their individual practices they explore how we perceive, map and negotiate space; how we become woven into a space and subsequently dislodged. How does the way we conceive of place impact our ability to experience balance?  What is the material of empty space?

Through use of sculptural objects, video and spatial interventions, Lindsay and Pham engage the uninhabited spaces defined by Blink Gallery and its environs. The installation Ingesting Space investigates the fixed, inanimate objects and boundaries through which we explain vacant space and challenges the perceptual framework we rely on to conceptualize our ephemeral link to absence
